The recent outbreak of diseases such as anthrax and peste des petits ruminants (PPR), a highly contagious disease affecting sheep and goats, has further exacerbated the problem.

Disposing of animal carcasses is not only a matter of public health and safety, but it is also crucial to the well-being of the animals themselves. Rotting carcasses can spread disease and attract pests, posing a significant risk to human health and the environment. Additionally, inhumane disposal methods such as open burning or landfilling can cause unnecessary suffering to animals and cause environmental pollution.
Incinheater technology: a game changer for the disposal of animal carcasses in Rwanda
Realizing the need for a more humane and efficient solution, the Rwandan government turned to incineration technology. Incinerators, also called cremators or crematoria, are designed to dispose of animal carcasses in a safe, efficient and environmentally friendly manner. These machines are capable of burning animal waste at extremely high temperatures, eliminating the risk of disease transmission and reducing the need for open burning or landfilling.
