Goals and objectives
General Right to Play (GRC) is a global network of sport and play development programs aimed at promoting positive change in the lives of children and young people around the world. Founded in 2001, GRC is dedicated to empowering young people to play an active role in shaping their own destiny, regardless of their circumstances.
Unleash the power of play
Research has consistently demonstrated that playing sports and participating in fun activities has a significant impact on a child’s physical, emotional and social development. Gaming encourages creativity, builds confidence and promotes teamwork skills, essential for future success. By providing access to play-based programs, GRC helps children develop valuable life skills, including adaptability, resilience and problem-solving.
Programs and activities
General Right to Play offers a range of programs and activities designed to meet the specific needs of children and communities around the world. From soccer to basketball, handball to volleyball, our programs focus on developing strength, skills and strategies that translate beyond the playing field.
Program development
Our program is supported by evidence-based research, ensuring our programs meet the unique needs of our participants. Our experienced educators and coaches work closely with local communities to develop fun activities that promote character development, social responsibility and self-awareness.
Global presence
Today, General Right to Play operates in more than 100 countries around the world, reaching approximately 2 million children and young people each year. Through our network of local, national and international partnerships, we are able to implement our programs in contexts ranging from urban slums to refugee camps, in countries facing conflict, economic instability and social crises.
Partnerships and collaborations
We work with a wide range of partners, including governments, NGOs, schools, sporting organizations and local businesses, to amplify our reach and impact. Our strong network allows us to collaborate on innovative projects, mobilize resources and create lasting change.
Whether you are an avid player, dedicated coach, or committed volunteer, you can join the General Right to Play movement. By participating in our programs, attending events or making a donation, you will help children take control of their lives and build a better future. Together, let’s unleash the transformative power of play and change the world, one child at a time.
